I CHAIRED OUR MOTHERS’ UNION AGM today. Great reports. Great hopes. Great faith. Great goodness. Great scones with jam and cream. 55 members. But what stands out for me towards the close of this day is what stood out for me towards the close of our opening Act of Worship, beautifully offered by one of our branch leaders:

Now, my friends, all that is true, all that is noble,
All that is just and pure, all that is lovable and attractive,
Whatever is excellent and admirable,
Fill our thoughts with these things:
And the God of peace will be with us.
