THIS OLD WORLD keeps on turning. The prophets of doom will cling to their beliefs, by some means or another, unto the very end. And I will continue to pray that their hearts may come to know some peace, be brought to some safe harbour. But for now the world keeps on turning. And I am minded to be both delighted about that, on the one hand, and not at all inclined to gloat on the other. It may yet be that the world as we know it will, at some point in history, come to an end. It wouldn’t be well for us to know of times and places. But in the meantime I’m glad of the faith I own that all things, all times, and all places are held by tender hands, by tender care, in this life – yes even in the midst of its trials and tribulations – and in and with Life beyond this life. I’m glad to have been blessed with faith in the providential mercy of God, the Alpha and the Omega of this world, and of life itself.

amazing blog and an amazing sermon today, spoke to me in so many ways.
