NO FRIDAY NIGHT Cumberland Sausage left at Tebay this evening! Signs were that the traveller might starve. But now happy to report that after a gargantuan battle in which the wiles of my Tebay-culinary conservatism were, like Satan, beaten down under my feet, I’ve discovered Steak and Ale Pie and Chips! So will the choice be difficult next time there’s both the sausage and the pie on the menu? Well, you know I never thought I’d say this, and my family and friends will think I’ve had a mental aberration, but I have to own that there would at least now be a choice to have to make. Ha! How our wisdom grows with age and experience!
