NOAH …

I THINK THE LADY who looks after our Children’s Corner at St Michael & All Angels Bramhall must be on to something – a hotline to the celestial Met Office or something like that. She’s been planning the most recent update for a while – and Noah’s Ark and All The Trimmings arrived this morning. Along with the Flood. St Swithun’s day (Friday) didn’t make summer holidays look altogether promising either. What to do? Mutter under one’s breath about the vagaries of British “summer”? Or have a really good Sunday afternoon nap – with the window open just enough to hear the rainfall and smell the fresh garden outside? Well, I opted for the nap. Out like a light. Dreaming of being fast asleep in one of those gorgeous Cornish cottages rendered invisible by a sea fret. Who wants all those high temperatures and summer sunshine anyway?
