LIFE IN OUR BUSY PARISH OFFICE is always fun and lively but today was tops. A rug in the middle of the floor. Toys. Initially sleepy / cuddleable / later noisy (very) baby. Happy little guy with a truck on the church entrance slope. Builders on the roof. Baby’s mum, and granny-parish-administrator equally serene, verger, sexton and churchwardens all about their business just the same as ever. The vicar in shorts pretending he’s already in France. Baby’s cousins turning up with Grandpa. Weekdays at St Michael’s are as good as Sundays, ‘specially in August. And I’m reminded of our Administrator’s God Laughs. God is good!
